Considerations in Choosing a Seller's Agent:
  • A full time sales agent who is a member of the local Board of Realtors and subject to the Realtor® Code of Ethics will be in the best position to network within that organization to represent your interests as a seller.
  • Is the agent affiliated with a broker that has a positive reputation, specializes in the type of property you are selling, commits proper resources to its agents, maintains a substantial presence in the local and regional media and provides a large network for identifying prospective buyers?
  • Are you comfortable working with the individual and do you have confidence in their ability?
  • Will the agent be accessible to you and provide periodic updates regarding marketing and prospect feedback?
  • Is the agent using technology to aid in the sale of your property and in managing their business?
  • Is the agent actively marketing other properties similar to yours and will they have a ready pool of prospective buyers?
  • Will the agent prepare and execute a customized marketing plan?
  • Will the agent commit the resources to bring your property to the attention of prospective buyers?
  • Is the agent committed to his or her own success and reputation as well as yours?
  • Does the agent have consumer marketing experience and do they use creative approaches when selling properties?
  • Do past customers eagerly recommend the agent you are considering?
